Gory Greek Gods: The Birth of Athena

Athena was born from inside Zeus' head. He asked his son Hephaestus to split his head open with an axe to "deliver" her. Here we see the moments just after her birth. We worked to create a nice flow to the paint and to focus all the energy on Athena's radiance and wisdom. Compositing will change the halo to red.
